The role of the IT Executive it to be the first point of contact for all staff on IT questions and problems – whether that be via the job-ticketing system, on the phone, or face-to-face. Reporting into the IT Manager and working with him and the Business Intelligence Manager, you will be responsible for:
• Proactively managing the ZenDesk job-ticketing system
• Proactively meeting with users via daily rounds and shadowing sessions to ensure any low-priority issues or suggestions are actioned appropriately
• Ensuring workstations meet users’ needs in terms of screen size, speed, software load and connectivity and implementing any upgrades or changes when required
• Provisioning new users on required systems; maintaining email, calendar and directory groups and providing new and on going user training
• Assisting the IT Manager in configuring and maintaining the internal phone system (PBX)
• Performing data cleansing tasks as documented or at the request of the Business Intelligence Manager

IT SKILLS
• Mac OS X client, 10.5 (Leopard) upwards and Mac OS X Server, 10.6 (Tiger) upwards (highly desired)
• Linux (highly desired)
• Windows Server 2003 upwards
• Relational database exposure
• Scripting and/or coding experience (bash, PHP is ideal)
• Apple desktop and portable hardware
• iPhone/iPad
• Open Directory (Mac OS X) and/or Active Directory (Windows)
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES/EXPERIENCE
• A Science/Engineering degree or experience in a similar role/environment
• Passion for technology – you can work independently and master new technologies quickly and with enthusiasm
• Good communication skills – ability to communicate clearly and concisely to all levels of technical proficiency, from end users to 3rd party code developers
• Calmness under pressure – you’ll be assisting the IT Manager in times of crisis so the ability to keep cool and think rationally is vital
• Enjoy working with people – deal professionally and patiently with less technical staff
• Good time management and project management skills and the ability to prioritise
