Hard on the heels of our recent Three Star accreditation, The SG Group has yet more cause for celebration, with the news of 13th place in the prestigious 2007 Sunday Times Best Companies awards.
Okay, 13th might not sound exactly vertigo-inducing. But go figure: we rode in just three short of single figures in an overall field of 330, the results being finely crunched from a total of 29,000 individual responses, plus we also won the special award for Wellbeing. We are particularly proud because this isn't a one off - we're the only company to retain a placing in the STBC top 15 for a whole four years on the trot.
Add to all this the fact that The SG Group was nominated for two other special awards - our own Vision & Values founder Claire Owen was second in Best Leader (having won this award the previous two years in succession). And if that wasn't praise enough we were shortlisted for the Work & Home Balance award. All in all we feel we have something pretty substantial to shout about.
If there was any rain on our parade it's the fact that we weren't the only company to score the hat-trick of special nominations. But since the other - Innocent Drinks - is a valued client, we're happy to let that one go.
All in all, participation rose considerably on last year: 30 per cent more companies entered STBC 2007, while the number of people submitting completed questionnaires was up by a paperwork-boosting 46 per cent.
